work work, no work out

I worked the weekend and wasn’t interested in doing anything. So there was no posts. Still have to do loads of clean for my party. I hope that will be a good work out.

I weighed myself this morning after I gotten out of the shower and I weighed 202Ib! Think I should just weigh myself in the morning. Maybe buy the 21st I will be 199Ib. then it truly would be a celebration.

BBQ season is upon us, and I love hotdogs and sausages. Unfortunately they have ridiculous amounts of calories and sodium. I need to find an alternative for these. The vegan/Vegetarian ones seem okay, but expensive. Maybe I’ll just stick to BBQ chicken.

Cat pee couch

I cleaned and sorted most of the basement yesterday afternoon. Found out that my cats have been using my couch as a litter box. Will be throwing that out today. Sigh. The cat in question is going to the vet to day, just in case it's something more serious.

I ate with in my calorie allotment, 1200 calories that it. I really like the app I downloaded, fitness pal. I just wish it showed the carbs too.

S. took the day off, we plan on spending it running around doing some chores, getting our hair cut, and completely cleaning the basement for my party.

Joe's Pants

 
Weighed myself this morning I was at 204Ib. I haven’t seen that number before. I tend to Fluctuate between 205 and 208 these days.  Getting too 199 is going to be hard work. I just want to be under the 200Ib mark before I see my Endo (endocrinologist aka diabetes Specialist) and just cause I haven’t been under 200 since I was a teenage I am sure.

I did a lot of Physical activity at work yesterday. I like to run up the stairs and do squats when I do Projects on the floor with the shelves. I push myself physically at work as much as I can, so I don’t have to spend a lot of time with exercise when I get home. I know I am horrible at motivating myself to doing it at home. But its good to have the option to do it at home when I cant at work, like today, as it’s my day off.

I plan on tackle my basement today. I am having a party next weekend and S. will be indisposed next week to help me.  So I think that will be a good work out.

On anther note, I reached one of my goals yesterday too. I was able to fit in Joe Fresh pants!! It was a 16 but I find they fit really small. So a 16 is more like a 14 in other sizes. They rarely have 16s in. its usually 14 and under and some times it just starts at 12! No 14 or 16 sizes at all. So my next goal is to be able to fit in their size 14 – 12 sizes.

Rain storm

Another rainy day today, and I’m loving it. Spring time is here at last.

 

Yesterday was a good day. I did 25 mins on the elliptical, burned 172 calories and at dinner my BG was at 5.1, not bad.

Today I might try some strength training. I found these 5 min work out videos online. I will give a few of them a try this afternoon.

Dinner wasn’t all the interesting, (linguini, sauce, salad) had to make a fast dinner because I was going out to help my husband by taking photos for him.  On are way home it just started pouring not just cats and dogs, but lions and wolves too.  At one point it was raining so hard that we couldn’t see. I was desperately trying to take a picture of the lightning, but no dice.

When we got home I got into my PJs, made a cup of tea, started knitting, and watched S. play some BioShock Infinite.

The worst headache

Yesterday I had hoped to wake up with the same energy that I did on Sunday, but I woke up with a headache instead.  I couldn’t focus all day, and had way too much caffeine.  By the end of the day I was burnt out.

But I still had hope.  I wanted to get some work out music online but the internet was acting up. I blame the rain; I also wanted some rock anthems too. I love to work out to hard rock or Heavy Metal, But sometimes it’s hard dance, or a mix of both.  My iPod had died too and by the time I had charged it up, it was time for me to start making dinner.

The rest of my evening was waiting for a guy who was going to buy some stuff I put up on Kijiji. He never showed up. Buy 8pm I was exhausted and just want to go to bed. 

 As I was laying bed, the rain started to come down hard, and the thunder rumbled in the sky. It was a good way to fall asleep.

I am really hoping today will be a better day! No headache so it’s already a good start.

The Beginning

Okay, So I am making this blog to help keep me motivated and honest on my way to reversing my type 2 diabetes through diet and exercise.

Here is a bit of the journey so far.

I was Diagnosed 2 years ago April 28. I remember the date because on my birthday that year, April 21, I was losing my sight, thirsty, nothing I drank quenched that thirst, and just feeling like total shit.  

I finally went to the Dr and my Blood Glucose level was 20. If you don’t know much about BG, a normal range is 4-5 before eating and 7-8 after 2 hours of eating.

After a slew of medication that had to many side effects for me, I decided that insulin would be the best thing for me. I take Nova Rapid and Levemir, up to 5 times a day I am injecting.

I have already lost about 50Ib. I weigh 206Ib as of this morning; I have been at 206Ib for a few weeks now. I know that I need to add is exercise into my regiment, but getting over this mental block is really hard!

I bought an elliptical of Kijiji.com a few months ago and I have been on it only a handful of times. I really want to do 30mins 3 times a week, and some strength training the other days.

I downloaded a few Apps that I hope will help me out. Glucose buddy for logging my blood glucose, and Fitness Pal for my calorie counting.

We will see how tomorrow will go.
